Not sure what ride to do now...Been thinking of the New Years POP, as I like that distance, and don't have the base miles yet for longer...Hmmm.

Route typically is Arlington to Venus and back, and good eats, interesting, if weird, company...best way to cure a hangover!   Smiley

The LSR New Year's populaire is now set to be 10:30 on the first.  The route will be Rando Alvarado 107k.  The 200k is bulging with intended riders, and we've now got a half dozen riders interested in the 100.  The populaire is a free ride, so last minute additions are not only accepted, they are encouraged!   Smiley

Did they mention 25 mph winds from the South, turning around to the North shortly after noon?   Wink

More importantly, nobody mentioned that Bikin' Mike appears to have eliminated one of the rest stops. Anyone taking a diuretic is gonna be flat out of luck.   Smiley

The break points are in the same place as last year. Those of us that are not worried about weight carry water with us.

No! No! No! You got that backwards! Its gotta be 25mph winds out of the North in late morning, turning to 25 mph out of the south around 1pm.  Smiley

The rest stop with the Port-O-Potties has been eliminated. I remember it from last year, because one of my knees went out on me, and I had to SAG in from that location. Note that the rest stops for this year's Ride are located only at Exxon stations. By the way I wouldn't be worried about drinking water (I don't need no stinking, weight-adding water). I would be worried about finding a place to get rid of water.  Smiley
