I needed a way to load my trike into the back of my truck, so thought about buying aluminum ramps....very pricey
so I bought 3 1"x4" x 8 feet planks
and 6 1"x2"'s x 8 feet long
screwed the 8 ft 1x2's against the 8 foot planks with the edges sticking up to make a channel so bike tires would stay on ramp
took 3 pieces of some sort of left over molding with humps and lumps and screwed these into one end of each ramp to help it stay in place when placed on truck bed gate. Whole project took 20 minutes and $20 worth of materials. works great. I can now load/unload my trike by spacing out the 3 ramps and they are ugly enough to leave in the bed of the truck while I ride that I doubt anyone would want to steal them....they could be painted but I am not going to do that.
