Rockwall 30+ miler, Saturday 6/11 at 8AM
Jun 7th, 2011, 1:04pm

If you're not interested in doing the White Rock Centennial Ride this Saturday, Tony and I are going to do the Rockwall "north" route, out 205, John King and 78 out to Lavon, this coming Saturday morning June 11.  However, we're going to do an 8AM rollout to intentionally NOT join the Rockwall group "fitness" ride that rolls at 7:45 - since they might decide to do the South route instead.  C'mon out for something different, on some pretty decent roads.

Meet in the parking lot in front of the Rockwall Cycling bike shop, which is next to the Target in Steger Towne Center, on Ridge Rd just south of I-30.  Here's a map link

 http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=rock wall+cycling,+rockwall,+tx&sll=32.802955,-96.769923&sspn=0.764142,1.597137&ie=UTF8&hq=rockwall+cycling,&hnear=Rockwall,+Texas&ll=32.895372,-96.46937&spn=0.005964,0.012478&t=h&z=17

If you're coming out I-30 eastbound across the lake, take the Ridge Rd (Not Horizon!) exit, turn right at the light, and make an IMMEDIATE left into the shopping center where you'll see a Starbucks.  DISREGARD THE "A" FLAG ON THE MAP....   Continue forward into the parking lot to find us, we'll be in the center of the parking lot area that's to the NORTH of the Target parking.

This will be a no-drop ride, but we're planning to keep a 16+mph rolling pace if possible, so be considerate of this...  we will probably be done by 10:30 at the latest, or maybe a bit longer.  We'll go up to Lavon, to hit a gas station for a halfway rest stop and water refill.

Just for the heck of it, I'll be riding to the start from my house, rollling out at 6:50 or so, just so i don't have to hurry...  it's ~11 miles each way.  If anyone would care to roll along....  3402 Summer Solstice, Rowlett.

So, don't be looking for my car at the Rockwall Cycling parking lot area - I'll be rolling in on the bike, somewhere between 7:30 and 7:45.

Anyone needs my phone number, it's 214 690 6781

Question -- is anyone else anticipating joining Tony and I on the Rockwall route ride tomorrow morning?  We're definitely rolling out from my house at ~6:50 to head to Rockwall, but if nobody is going to be there, we'll go out 66 and head north from there, instead of detouring down to the bike shop...

Anyone?
