RANS Rally rides
Sep 6th, 2010, 8:31am

Had a GREAT time at the RANS rally, riding with Randy and John as well as about 50 others...  Terrie and I rode a Screamer tandem on a couple rides and really enjoyed it -- no balance issues, and by the end of the first day she was asking "So, how much is one of these, again???"    Smiley  Friday afternoon we did a casual 10-miler downtown to the ice cream shoppe and back, and that evening we did a casual tour of Hays, winding up at the local brewhouse (Gulla's) for dinner and drinks, and did a night ride with lights back to the factory.

The weather was great, as well, albeit windy... chilly enough Saturday morning to require jackets and tights -- but it warmed up soon enough... and it was VERY windy on Sunday's 26-mile hilly ride out at Wilson Lake.

Oh.... and I got to ride a carbon Xstream....  yeah, baby...    Smiley

More to come, with pics...

Paul, does RANS still intend to not add a carbon X-Stream to its product line?

One can never have too many bents.  Besides, carbon is good.  Smiley

It's not significantly lighter than the aluminum Xstream frame, but there's a difference in vibration transfer...  couldn't really tell about overall stiffness and power transfer, didn't put it through those kind of paces...  but just the fact that it was there to test ride was pretty cool!

Oh, and here's Dave Rothgeb, the new owner of my old SXP...
