Tour de Trykes - Enid, OK 9-4-10
Sep 5th, 2010, 11:32am

My wife, Dorothy, I rode in the Tour de Trykes in Enid, OK on Saturday.  We were the only recumbent trikes and Mark L. was the only recumbent bike.

Below is a picture of Mark at the start.  Probably about the only time he saw the back of any rider.

Excellent roads, wind was almost perfect, it looked like they had regular rest stops on the 58 mile ride then switched to convenience stores on the 100 which is why I kept missing them. The north run was an absolute blast, I was easily hitting 30 and had a motorcycle escort for 60 miles

I saw an article where someone during the ride on a recumbent was hit riding up 81 by an 88 year old lady, I passed a guy on an Easy Racer with a full windshield and thought that had to be him since he was the only other recumbent I saw. Apparently he'll be okay

Funny thing was the 58 mile finishers came from the south with people at the stadium cheering but when I came in on the 100 mile course from the north nobody was paying attention.   Smiley

Some folks just don't know how to suffer - that fella looks way too comfortable!

I haven't suffered since I quit riding my DF.
I was either taking a snooze when this picture was taken or thinking about the free beer after the ride!  Smiley
