Tour d'Italia 100k
Jun 19th, 2010, 4:09pm

It was a pretty good ride with an estimated 1000 riders. It did have more chipseal than many of the other area events especially at the start but I didn't think it was that bad and the last third of the ride was by far the fastest especially after the last couple of rest stops. I show less than 1800 ft of climb and finished the 100k with a 20.9 average.

PS: Saw Bob McClure on his "new" bike and had to razz him about being naked without the fairing. (I sent John your pictures Bob)

PSS: No Greg and his Velokraft ARGHH! I'll see you tomorrow morning.

PSSS: Missed Sadowski somehow, I guess he started at the back somewhere.

PSSSS: Saw a small group of bents riding eastbound into Italy as I was leaving, anyone from Rbent doing a rando today or something?

PSSSSS: Passed a white Catbike Musashi right at the end, no idea who was riding it but it's a nice looking bike which means Jayg now must buy one Smiley

PSSSSSS: There is no PSSSSSS.

I ride my bike to ride my bike, and sometimes it takes me where I need to go.

That was likely Steve, Peggy, Nelson, and I. We were riding the Magical Mystery Tour 200k permanent. It must have been close to noon as we went through Italy. It looked like most riders were finished; there were bikes on every vehicle coming out of town.
