Corsa Rear Der Question
Jun 16th, 2010, 12:52am

Hey guys, been out of the loop for a while.  Just getting back to riding.  I kinda forgot about trashing my right bar-end shifter so I finally ordered up a set.  Got to looking at the bike a little closer and remembered that I really don't like the Ultegra rear der that's on there.  So I'm thinking about swapping out to a SRAM X9.  Any compatibility issues between X9 long rear der and Dura Ace bar ends?

Steve P, is that what you had on the Corsa S/S?

Just thought I'd check before ordering.

Thanks,
Steve

I had issues with the SRAM X.0 that was stock on my Corsa when I switched to Dura-ace bar ends, I could only get 8 of the 9 gears to work.  It seems that the SRAM shifter/derailleur setup has a slightly longer cable pull than Shimano.  I finally gave up and put Dura-ace rears on both our bikes.  I've seen something somewhere (probably on the Bacchetta forum) about an adapter you can get to solve that though.

I said enough with all the fiddling and have been running friction for years, never worry about adjustments except for the stops.  Don't do a lot of pack racing on the bent so haven't missed it.

Take Care,
Nelson.
