Tour de Pepper
Jun 8th, 2010, 9:44pm

I'll be heading to Dublin Friday afternoon for this ride on Saturday.  Supposed to be all the Dr. Pepper you can drink after.  That's not the reason for going, I've just been wanting to tour the Dr. Pepper plant.  Will be camping out at some park in town.  DJ

I'd recommend this ride if you want to slaughter DF's.  Gently rolling hills ideal for 'bents.  Hardly any traffic.  Camped in the city park for 8 bucks and that includes shower facilities.  DJ

I'd guess about 300.  This was the second year for the ride from what a local told us.

I was thinking about doing this but opted for the Collin Classic instead.  I think I'll put it on the calendar for next year.  Being a native Texan - I love Dr. Pepper!!!

I gotta ride here and in Brenham.

Dublin is a rather quaint town.  When I registered and paid for the campsite (I had phoned earlier in the week indicating we wold be tent camping) the folks in the city office filled out a lime-green parking permit for placement in my car.  The top line says:

RV SPACE #_______________________  the gal put a diagonal line across the open space and wrote in "tint"

I was surprised at the fair showing of bents.  Met one couple from Lafayette, La  who were riding a Volae and a Gold Rush equipped with a Bionix hub.  Another couple there each had a Gold Rush.

Dublin Dr. Pepper is my all time favorite soda, so I was torn between this ride and the Collin Classic. Did CC, because it's closer to Dallas.

That was pretty much my deciding factor as well.
