Peggy and Steve,

Words can't convey how proud I am of you.  What a joy it's been the past 3 plus years to see your cycling abilities flourish.  Thanks for calling me after you'd ridden 900k, with a paltry 70 miles to finish.  Wish I could have spoken briefly with you.

I know RAW is next up, though I hope we all can get together soon to hear your tale.

Does this qualify you two for PBP?

Great weekend on the bike. Steve is the best husband anyone could ever ask for. Steve rode so well all weekend and could have ridden the 1000k much faster then he did. But being the super husband that he is he rode my pace. I will wright a better wright up later.
Hear are my thought on 1000k rides  for now I would say it was easier then I thought it would be and harder then I thought it would be.

Knee felt mostly OK all 3 days but I will take a couple of weeks off the bike to give it time to truly heal.

About PBP I think the 1000k is part of qualifying, but Steve and I don't went to go over and do PBP next year. We could like t do a 1200k here next year.

Thanks for everyone's support.

Thanks all for the positive thoughts/words. To answer Paul's question, Yes, but I have absolutely ZERO interest in riding PBP. There are too many great 1,200k rides in this country that I can spend a fraction of the money participating in.

I would write up a ride report ,but with 3 days of adventures ,it might go on forever. The 1,000k brevet card looked like a copy of Homer's Odyssey, 22 separate controls,Bud saw it first hand Friday night & immediately started laughing.

The whole weekend was just so much fun. I can say without a doubt that Oklahoma roads/drivers are 100% better than our fair state. This was Peggy's best ride since the Texas Time Trials. We finished with 12 hours to spare, and I ended up just shy of 1,700 miles for the month.

Now our focus shifts to crewing for Mark Metcalfe during Race across the West. Mark is ready to tear it up.

The hide hosts (Pat & Charlie Jenkins) are saints. To be responsible for 5 different events/riders at once (200,300,400,600, & 1,000K rides) is truly amazing & they are racing in RAW next week.
