Rescheduled RBENT Airport Ride, Sun. Apr. 11, 8:30
Mar 28th, 2010, 7:54am

This thread is for the rescheduled RBENT version of the GDB Airport ride again, on Sunday morning April 11...

We'll have two distance/speed groups available -- a 50+ mile group that will roll at 18-20ish, and a ~40 mile group that will have a somewhat slower pace, 15-16 -- but both are intended to be "no drop"

For pre-ride socialization purposes, people can meet at Corner Bakery on the southEAST corner of Preston/Forest at 7:15-7:30ish,  for coffee and breakfast, if you're so inclined (reclined)... Then at 8:10 or so, we can start pre-ride prep, for an 8:30AM rollout from that same Corner Bakery lot.  We'll all roll out together for the first few miles across Northaven, probably over to Denton Tap Rd., then we'll split into the speed groups.

Both groups will do the GDB airport ride route, which goes across Northaven to Denton Tap, up to Valley View, west to Luna, north up to Belt Line, then across and down Freeport to the airport Shell station for a rest stop.   The ~40 mile group will turn around at that point, taking essentially the same route back to the start.  The longer-distance group will take a short break, do a 3/4 loop around the airport COUNTERCLOCKWISE, and take Walnut Hill back eastbound, eventually tying into Merrill and Northaven, finishing back at Forest/Preston.

We should all finish within about 30 minutes of each other, around 12:30.  Lunch will be a group decision location, given the selection of restaurants at that intersection -- I like Scotty P's or Sonny Bryan's, myself, but I could be coerced elsewhere.

C'mon out!

Sunday's weather looks VERY nice for the Airport Ride, as well....!!!!!   If you're not doing Lancaster, or even if you ARE, consider taking a morning off from church to socialize!!!!  We've got a LOT of new members (and new bikes!) since the last major get-together...

Remember, if you're an earlier riser, meet at Corner Bakery at 7:30 for coffee and a light breakfast before the 8:30 rollout...

We'll arrive at the airport Shell station at 114 at roughly 9:45-10:00.  That would be the best place to try to meet us and say hello!  Then you can join the group going around the airport.

See you at Corner Bakery, Preston/Forest southeast corner -- I'll have maps, and John Foster is leading the 40 mile group
