Cold clown ride
Dec 3rd, 2009, 1:30pm

Despite the 35 to 40 degree temperature, two clowns rode today.
I started riding at 7:15 when the temperature was 35 degrees. Got in 9 miles before breakfast. After breakfast the temperature had risen to 40 degrees, Still cold.

It was pointed out that I did not mention that two clowns showed up for breakfast with no intention of riding.

Kudos to you for riding, but kudos to the two that elected to stay warm also.  Brawn and brains in this group.  Seriously, I'm in awe of everyone riding in the cooler temps this week.

Actually, there were 5 Clowns present. The 3rd Clown was suited up to ride, but didn't bring his ride with him. Must have decided to chicken out when he went outside, first thing in the morning. Cluck cluck.

Got in 49 slow miles on my trike. Five layers on the top and three on the bottom. Electrically-heated gloves, shoe covers, and chemical heating pads on the toes. Still a little cold. Nasty little breeze from the North. Never did shed any layers.

Needless to say, we pretty much had the path at White Rock Lake to ourselves.

Layers  -  layers -  layers

I have enough layers to go down to 35 degrees. Anything below that I prefer the quilt on my bed.
