'Round the World weekend and bday lunch, 11/14-15
Nov 1st, 2009, 9:16pm

If the weather holds, the weekend of Nov. 14th-15th is when I should reach my "Around the World" BikeJournal-logged mileage point of 24,900 miles (give or take a couple), accumulated since I first bought my EZ-1 in April of 2005... Which is the semi-official "Circumference Of The Earth"!!!  The 15th is also my 52nd birthday...  and I'm currently ~225 miles away from the magic number.

I'm already planning to do the GDB Sunday Roll on the morning of the 15th, followed by lunch at Spring Creek BBQ, since the GDB club is a major reason I've reached this "milestone" in less than 5 years of riding.  Please consider coming out to this fun ride (9:30AM rollout from NE corner of Preston/Royal) on the 15th, especially if you've never done it -- it's an "explore Dallas" ride that essentially does 30-35 miles in about three hours, riding all over Dallas.

BUT....  I'm thinking I'd also like to do some sort of ride with some of the RBENT gang on Saturday the 14th, maybe a 100K, maybe less, followed by lunch, since y'all are "my people..."   Smiley  Maybe some route in FlowerMound / Argyle?  Nothing too strenuous, that a buncha folks might want to come out for...

Thoughts on a ride for Nov 14th?   Who might be in for the Sunday morning on the 15th?

I think I'm good for the 14th, but 100k might be a little much.  If I knew the route I'd join you for the last 2/3 or something like that.  If I can talk my wife into riding on the tandem we'd be lucky to get 20 miles.

Well, I'm not going to put anything together for Saturday the 14th, after all...  Terrie's got a rare day off, so it would be very politically incorrect and maritally hazardous for me to go ride for several hours....  Ya know how it is....   Smiley   Smiley

HOWEVER, participation in the Sunday Roll is still on, on the 15th.  C'mon out!

Last minute change of plans for Saturday (tomorrow) the 14th...   I'll be doing the GDB Airport Ride, departing Preston/Forest at 9AM sharp...  ~60 miles, back about 1PM.  C'mon out, if you're not doing something else already!!!  However, I don't have time to hang out for lunch, that'll have to wait till Sunday after the GDB Sunday Roll....

I'm still considering Sunday, assuming I'm not still hacking up a lung.  Going to go out for small miles tomorrow and see how I feel.  I still have junk in my lungs but it's subsiding.
