BTW, I keep hearing comments about the boulderseal on the TTTT course. What are you guys talking about, as I just saw fairly normal chip-seal? The boulderseal I talk about typically cuts your speed to around 12mph (when I could normally do 25) and is so rough that your eyes are jarred to the point where you can't really see the road ahead. The surface looks like either tar was sprayed down and then gravel was thrown out by the shovelfuls fairly randomly, with a lot of loose gravel still around, or they used 3/4-1.5" aggregate and you risk a pinch-flat just riding on the surface. It retains debris between the rocks and you can often see sizeable chunks of broken glass stuck between the rocks. The first case is maybe somewhat rideable, especially with balloon tires but the second really isn't, unless you are running Large Marge's with the snow/sand tires that fit them. If you haven't seen this type of boulderseal that txdot is putting down on roads from SA all through East Tx, just wait. They'll most likely be heading your way soon.
