Big Dam Ride
Sep 30th, 2009, 9:01pm

While everyone else was at the Time Trials I went to Little Rock to do the Big Dam Ride mainly because I've never ridden in Arkansas before.

My guess 2000 riders maybe 5 recumbents including a tandem, the first 30 miles was amazingly fast with rolling hills and NO CHIPSEAL. I ended up doing the 100k which was really 68.5 miles including a ride over the Big Dam (hence the name). Good support with an occasional sheriff providing an escort, my average was 20.9 making it the fastest ride this year.

Well worth it, I gotta do more Arkansas rides

Thanks for the report.  I remember a few years ago when you poo-pooed organized rides to rule white rock lake.  Smiley
