RBENT Picnic
Sep 28th, 2009, 11:37am

Since it's a ride AND a social gathering, I wanted to make sure to put a blurb in the main forum to ask you guys to check out the thread in the upcoming rides forum.  I need a headcount since I am providing the burgers.

I ride my bike to ride my bike, and sometimes it takes me where I need to go.

Greg - if it's ok, count Angie and I as tentative.  I may be "Yaking" on Sunday, as I'm looking to buy a cool 17' fiberglass racing Kayak.

It's fine of course, Ray.  We'd all like to see Angie again though!  Can she come at least?

Just to clarify:  We will leave from the Bryant Irving parking lot from the Trinity trails at 9am.  This lot is listed as TH4 on this map:

http://www.trinityrivervision.org/images/TrinityTrailsmap-7.jpg

to get there from 20 - head North on Bryant Irving.  Take a U-Turn at River Park drive.  The entrance is on your right.

to get there from 30 - exit Camp Bowie. Turn left onto Bryant Irvin road.  After you pass River Park Drive the entrance is on your right.

We anticpate getting most riders back around 12-12:30.  If you'd like to mapquest to my apartment complex, it's the Canyons Apartments.  When you enter the main complex entrance you can park in the visitors lot or take the left gate.  Someone is always going in and out of there so it's pretty easy.  You can park in any parking space not in front of the garages.  Also do not park in a carport.

My address is 2807 Ranch House Drive East #412.  Zip is 76116.  My phone is 817-570-7070.

Hopefully we'll be clear and dry, but check the radar and the forum before you leave.  If we're getting heavy showers that aren't likely to let up, we'll call it off.  If it's going to let up, we may start a little late.

Welp, weather report shows 56 degrees for the 9am start tomorrow with clouds.  61 at noon and partly sunny.  67 at 3pm.  I'm still more than willing to ride - Bud and I did 106 today in low 50's.  needed armwarmers and a vest and a skullcap and was fine.

Everyone still planning on attending?

Well, haven't heard from many, but we'll have several coming for sure anyway based on who I've talked to, so at this point we're still riding for sure, still having 2 routes - a 45 miler and an 18 to whatever you want to do miler.

I'm thinking about nixing the potluck dinner though, and having a post-ride rave at my favorite chinese restaurant 1.5 miles away.
