Nope, but they've apparently been doing it for 25 years, so it's obviously pretty well established, and they should know what they're doing for rest stops, route, etc!!   Go for it!    Smiley

I did it a few years ago.  It was a good ride and let me tell you, the candy stop has got plenty to choose from!

I've done this quite a few times, but not for 3 years.  I've done the 100 miler, which is actually closer to 110 miles.  It goes by George W.'s ranch, and that's pretty cool to experience.  It's a wide open course, not a ton of turns, and most of the hills are at the end.

I have done this ride for too many years to count.
It is good ride.
One thing of note is: One of the rest stops (the candy stop) is at the Mars candy factory and they have tables full of their products and you just help yourself.   I have seen candy littering the road on the way back.
I knew a rider, once, who took this huge bag and filled it with candy, lots of candy. So much that it rubbed the back wheel and candy started falling out.
Another time I heard a kid complaining to his mother because she would not let him throw away his spare tube and tools so he could get more candy.

Some of the boys from my son's scout troop are planning on riding this one. My son hasn't made his decision yet. He is a bit daunted by the 50 mile ride and knows he can't do it at the same pace that the scout leaders want to set. His trike isn't built for speed. Sounds like a fun ride though. If the weather clears, I'll probably drive down on Saturday morning.

Rallys aren't about speed, really....  get out there and take advantage of the rest stops, and enjoy the ride!!!

Patty, some friends and I have boys the same age, so years ago we started doing the WWW.  The candy was a great motivtor for the boys.  Presently the boys don't do the ride any more ( 34 years of age) but us parents still do.  It's great to see all of the kids on the ride and everyone does enjoy the Skittle's factory.  Go for it.  By the way, I'll be with  5 other trikes this year so there will be others on the route.

The scout troop did a bike maintenance workshop last night. My son took his trike and it was a hit. Everyone wanted to ride it, including the high school boys.  The bike tech got it tuned up for him, correcting a persistent derailleur problem and gave him some ideas to try regarding his irritating brake squeal. He is now feeling more enthusiastic about the ride but is still on the fence. I've told him(repeatedly) that this is a ride, not a race, but what mom says takes a back seat to what the guys say. I'll let him know there are going to be some other trikes there, That will help too. Ultimately, I'm just gonna have to find a good deal on a used Pocket so I can upgrade his ride to something a little better for distance riding. I did tell him last night that, if he makes me ride by myself, I won't share any candy.  Wink

Yee Haw!! Got my son convinced to ride, husband and daughter decided to join in as well. Campsite reserved, registration paid, new axle on the popup. Just have to figure out how to transport everyone's ride and we're all set. Usually the trikes ride inside but, in this case, that means the kids would have to ride out on the luggage rack. Hmm... probably not such a good idea.  Smiley

Patti, there will be four trikes, a recumbent tandem, Giro, and a crank forward at the start.  Look for the flags on the trikes (Red Sun EZ-3, Black TW-Trident , black Windcheata, red Scaarb), gold tandem and line up with us--all of your family.  See you there.
