Small Q-Rings (Read 1231 times)

What I had on the bike was 50x40x30 regular rings So install Bio Pace on my bike. We'll see what happen tomorrow. Later Thomas Jenkins

Hurricane Dan Boom chika wow wow... Posts: 296	Re: Small Q-Rings Reply #2 - Aug 3^rd, 2009, 9:47pm Let me know how it goes. I've read quite a bit of controversy about the orientation of the Biopace chainrings and you can't just put them 90 degrees out for a recumbent. Your only choice would be 72.

Why not call Kelvin and make sure it's still in stock? I run 26T on my Rotors and that is one sweet crank! 35 mph headwind, I am still cruising along.

I would think a 27 Q ring would be well worth the price. I'd stay away from cheap imitations because even if it was exactly the same I believe we should invest in research when it is successful. Rotor did all the research then the imitators come along. I consider this sort of spending an investment in future improvements to my ride.

I just know that a couple individuals were short a small chainring and thought one of them might be interested. I'm looking into the O,symetric chainrings. I love the q-rings, but I'm too feeble for a 30T granny gear these days. I have 26T's on the Corsa and Roadster and a 24T on the SXP. If someone has a 27T q-ring to trade for the 30T, that would work.

Richard rbent member Posts: 480	Re: Small Q-Rings Reply #12 - Aug 8^th, 2009, 10:26am The one thing I miss on my old home made bike was the 27 front and 34 rear. The gearing was from a mountain bike I cannabalized. When you get to that "grunt" angle, it sure does help. RichardC
