College Loop Training

A big thanks to Hurricane Dan for coming out and riding with me. I hope we can make this a regular ride. I think you will be ready for HHH. Even if there close hells gate early.

A big thanks to Ray for helping me fix my derailleur(via the phone). This was my first ride with my new Garmin. I love It.

No problem.  Thanks for letting me look at the back of your bicycle for an hour.  Smiley  Let me know if Steve's coming out next time so I can bring my binoculars.  That, or a 49cc two-stroke.

Thanks again to the Pegster.  I added some sprints to my commute and my average went up over 1 mph.  My new best is 17.2 mph!!  Smiley Smiley Smiley
This would be the one day I forgot my sunscreen.  Smiley I'd like to describe my ride home but there's no "melted on the road" smiley, so just imagine this little yellow guy is the sun and I'm the j@ck@$$!  Smiley For those of you who know me, it won't be hard to imagine.  Tongue

I'm going to be on College again on Friday evening  around 4:30PM . The coach wants me to work on my cadence  Smiley. It's going to be a little toasty, great HHH training.

Congrats on the great ride home, well done.

You didn't have to be THAT quick to agree.  I need to see if it's too early to take a sick day and come ride with you guys.  All this workin' instead of slackin' off is a real beating!

Peggy, I have to push my long(er) Sat. ride back 'cause I'm going to be out of town, so Friday will work well for me.  I'll try to make it out.

Steve and Peggy, thanks for inviting me out again.  I completely forgot when you said I should check out one of those Bacchettas.  If the offer still stands, I'd like to see how it rides.  I keep seeing the Strada listed as a good randonneuring bike (not as good as the Corsa, but the only one in my price range).  And it just so happens that there's one for sale right now with only 400 miles on it for $985.  Coincidence?

I can say owning both a Corsa and a Strada (Peggy's previous one) that both are quick and both are great for randonneuring.  Both can be setup identical, but the Strada generally comes with the B-pivot and wider bars and the Corsa comes with a stiffy riser and narrower bars.  The frame weight difference is not that huge, and I would say the Corsa is moderately stiffer.  I made my Corsa flex like heck in AL though.

The heavier tires and wheels I have on the Strada make it very stable.

Take Care,
Nelson.
