Anyone try the Sixsixone MTB sandles
Jun 15th, 2009, 10:57pm

I was thinking today about the lack of cooling to my feet since my shoes have all the mesh on top so I have been eyeballing sandals. Anyone try the sixsixone's??  I saw were the keens were narrow and I know that wont work.

Actually, the Keens aren't that narrow.  I have a wide toe box, and have been riding with the Sidi Mega width shoes, but recently picked up a set of Keens.  I haven't used them for long rides yet, since I don't want to swap out pedals on the Corsa until I have to, but for short trips on my mtn bike I have no complaints.

Please do.  I'd like to have more than two brands of shoes to pick from.  I can only get comfortable in Sidi or Specialized.  The Keen sandals were pretty snug.  Some people may like that but blood doesn't circulate well through my feet with tight shoes.  Can't wait to hear how they work out for you.

As my father once told me I could water ski with no skis so yeah I like a wide shoe too. We shall see they will be in next week I think.

I'll be surprised if the Keens work for you...  besides the slightly insufficient width, I didn't like the toe box contact.  But, everybody's different!!!

I use these http://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product_10053_10052_169948_-1_16500_10000_16502 currently.  I find that the Keen's where just to tight.  I purchased a pair and ended up taking them back to REI after trying them for a few weeks.  I keep looking for a pair of Lake Sandals to try on, but everytime I am somewhere that carries them they don't have my size.

LOL I did not order the Keens. I ordered the Sissixones. At least I dont think they are the same. The nashbars look nice too. If I dont like my new pair I will try them.

Well did my first couple of tests over the last few days. One night when I was out working in the garage I wore them for about 2 hours and my feet didnt hurt and they were decent to walk in. Then I put ten miles on them on the bike and I must say I love them. Now granted I was easing back into it so I didnt pull a groin again but they did well. I wore them pretty loose but even in high cadence the seemed fine. They adjust over the top x 2 and the one across the back adjusts. They also have a pad between the straps Smiley and your foot.

Just to give you reference of my sled foot.

Width is more important than length anyway, isn't it?

I didn't have to, I keep a tape measure next to my computer for visualization when designing bicycles. Smiley
