Nice article in this edition if National Geographic Adventure magazine regarding the 50 Best American Adventures. 5 of the 50 adventures are bike rides.

#1-Biking the Continental Divide(most of the ride is on doubletrack forest roads, with some smattering of asphalt). Oh,there's 200,000 feet of climbing(7 Mt Everest's).
#7-Biking RAGBRAI-Momma Loon will be looking for you John S.  10,000 riders,25,000 ft of climbing.
#16-Mountain biking Durango to Moab. Weeklong mountain bike  expedition. 215 miles
#29-Bike the Death Ride(California), 129 miles,15,000 feet of climbing. Most demanding road race.
#39-Bike the Maak Daah Hey(North Dakota), 96 ,soon to be 176 miles of singletrack in the Badlands.

As soon as Bacchetta comes out with a fully suspended recumbent that is less than 20 pounds I'll be ready to go.

Just curious, is anyone doing RAGBRAI this year.  I'm going, as the last 15 times, with Team Silverstreak.
