Caffeine
Apr 15th, 2009, 9:12pm

Today as I was getting ready for my 5 mile commute  to work I got out me water bottle and instead of filling it with water for the short ride ,I filled it with coffee. As I was sipping coffee from my polar water bottle I thought I'm so addicted to caffeine. We all have our vises. I have a cup that reads "with enough caffeine I think I could rule the world" Caffeine's not that bad for you right Wink

Since I started the new job I have discovered the only occupation that drinks more coffee than Computer Geek is Journalism. I'm now a journalist formerly a computer geek.

I broke my caffeine habit over Lent (other than two bottles of tea driving to rides).  Prior to that I would drink far too much Diet Dr Pepper, never being a big fan of coffee.

Opus, you missed one, to be the ultimate coffee hound you would have needed to have been in the military before being a computer geek (or both at the same time).

Pedlin' Peggy - first of all, and most importantly is your coffee cup PRETTY?

Do you like iced coffee?  Just like we do at LSR controls, I often put iced coffe in my polar bottle.

Addiction, nah....

oh man, I love the caffeine on those overnight rides.  But the scary thing is that I probably have to give it up for good.  Y'all will have to yell at me when I fall asleep on the bike, so drink enough for me too Wink

Coffee? Eww. When I was back at Clarkson we'd sit in the computer lab and down multiple 2 liter bottles of code red each in overnight sessions when we were either designing software of playing with molecular structures on the really expensive machines. One guy was a heavy jolt drinker but that stuff was gross. Yeah yeah no liquids in the lab  Tongue

Same thing in the server rooms at Verizon and Hitachi Metals of American it was Regular Dew or Code Red no coffee except the intern from Japanese Parent Company for Hitachi.

I'm not allowed caffiene now, nor was I then, so it is very rare that I have any these days. I do however know someone who goes through oh 4 gallons of diet coke a week and if it wouldn't go flat on a bike I'm sure they'd have it then too.

I've been a coffee and tea junkie for many years, but alas, my coffee and tea are both decaf these days.

Now that you're on a bent, how will we know if you fall asleep?  Smiley

I never picked up the coffee habit.  I drink lots of green tea, which is naturally caffeinated, but in small amounts.  I *am* addicted to carbonation, which means I usually have a diet coke a day.  I try to keep my overall intake low, so that on the bike when I do have a monster or something it has more of an effect when I need it.

Greg, it is pretty simple to tell when a recumbent rider falls asleep on the bike, they soon hit the ground Smiley.
