2nd Annual MS 1.5 Kid’s Bike Challenge
To benefit the Lone Star Multiple Sclerosis Society
April 5, 2009 – Sunday
Registration, Bike & Helmet Check begins at 1 p.m.
Ride begins promptly at 2 p.m.
Raffle begins at 3 p.m.
Cost: $10 per rider Give your kids the chance to feel the thrill and excitement of riding in their own bike rally by participating in their own 1.5-mile bike ride here in Allen and show them how they can help those with MS, an autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system.
Our ride, specifically designed for kids, will begin and end at Celebration Park, taking place along the bike path. To ensure the safety of all riders, park entrances will be monitored by the
City of Allen Explorer Post, which provides the opportunity for young adults to explore law enforcement careers.
After riders check-in,
Plano Cycling & Fitness will provide bike and helmet checks. They will also talk to each participant about the importance of bike safety.
Registration begins at 1 p.m. All participants will receive a bag filled with health and fitness-related items and information on MS. Music and entertainment will be provided by
O2KOOL! Entertainment.
We’ll also be hosting a raffle that includes a child’s BMX Bike from
Raleigh Bicycles. Other raffle items include: baseballs signed by local baseball greats, gift certificates from
Plano Cycling, gift certificated from
thingy’s Sporting Goods and more!
There will also be a raffle, entertainment, food and fun -- all to raise funds for the
Lone Star MS Society. Cost for each rider is $10. Monies raised will help fund research to find a cure and provide support services for local residents presently living with the effects of MS. Meet our team members as well as the family and friends we ride for.
