Trinity Trail Saturday Jan. 17
Jan 16th, 2009, 11:36am

I'll be heading out from the parking circle at the north end of Taylor Street (downtown Fort Worth) tomorrow about 1:00.  Plans are to do the 40 mile route out by Benbrook lake and back.  Probably a moderate pace (13-15 going out into the wind, 17-20 headed back).  If anyone wants to join, come on!
Cell is 817-995-5551 if you need to call.
Robert

Well, something of a mess for the start of the ride.  Due to all the roads closed for the Stock Show/Rodeo parade, I couldn't get to the planned start point.  Drove to another point along the trail and started off from there.  Only other folks were Brian and a friend, Andy, who started from another location and were going tp meet me along the trail.  If anyone else showed for the ride, I apologize for the confusion.  Couldn't raise Brian on the phone, so headed for Benbrook at a slow pace (13ish) into a pretty stiff wind.  Right after turning around at the lake to head home, up rode Brian and Andy.  So turned around and retraced some of my previous route, but enjoyed the company.
Started getting some little cramps around 28 miles or so, so took an extended break to eat a couple of granola bars and do a lot of stretching.  The return trip was pretty fast with the strong tailwind, and despite pushing a big gear, didn't get any more cramps.
39 miles, 14.9 avg.  Nice day except for wind.  Brian's getting stronger all the time.  He'll be kicking my tail one of these days.
