I saw that, but never had enough guts to investigate the price. There's probably 10 year financing on it with easy payments.

As I recall, it was the Tour Easy crash thread that referenced it.  One of the replies was the umpteenth time I've read about a rider who went off a bike path, then tried to get back on, and lost it when the front wheel hit the edge of the path pavement (if you run off a bike path, STOP!!!!). That's a crash that always seems to break a leg.

heh - I did that on my road bike - went arse over teakettle down the sheer dropoff to a creek.  Somewhoe managed to grab a branch on my way over the handlebars and unh on until my wife could get my bike off me and lend me a hand to get bacl up the bank.  Thanks to all the martial arts, didn't even have a scratch!

Wow, thanks Bud.  I've ridden motorcycles for years and always think about edge traps.  For some reason though, I never thought about the accidental path overrun scenario on a bicycle.  Great tip!

getting away from DC healing, but Custer Rd, and Independence both have some horrible seams that parallel the roadway.  Death for bicycles.  But I saw a newbie nearly kill themselves on the path the other day in that very same edge trap scenario.  OUCH!

Take Care,
Nelson.
