Trike Kit For SALE!
Aug 27th, 2008, 8:13am

BUILDERS! I hope I have something of interest for you. When "IE" was in business, I bought a kit, still in box. Not sure of price, $200 or 220 plus shipping. Since I have several other trikes, doubt I shall ever put it together. Made for 26 " rear tire, but, any size will work, 20, 24. Only extra parts needed are power sprocket, pedals, rear wheel. Can supply same at no cost. Somewhere I have the accompaning disk, if you really need it. Let me know so I can look for it.

Where else can anyone find a recumbent trike kit for $200? For a picture, go to "Mike's Recumbent Trike List". Very similar to other trikes still in production. Some may question buying an 'out of production' item. Tell me this, what year is your car, truck, cycle? Are they still making that same year?  Grin

Correction! Kit is made for 20 inch rear tire  embarrassed, just saw it on "Mike's Recumbent Trike Links". Have no 20 rear tires to add with kit.

Being a streched human.  I have a poor history of fitting on good deals such as this.  But I always find it hard to pass up a good deal!

Speaking of good deals,  greg what happened to your Volae?

This is where you can see one picture, called "IE", in the page with 'defunk' trikes.

Haven't had a chance to look for disk yet!

Tnx for reply! Wonder how I am getting this underline?

aikigreg, the picture which "Mr overdress" posted is good!
If you have not read the other replies, one is looking for trike for his little sister (not sure if boom can be shortened enough) for short legs. the other reply wants it for his wife, hope her legs are long enough. Feel both can be made comfortable.
Being an 'old fart' myself, am somewhat partial to hoping your dad gets it, if he can get someone to braze it.

Just one more time!

This is a "kit"! Not a bare bones trike frame! (Really now! And for just $200?) It means that the 'crossmember' must be welded to the main boom, rear triangle musy be welded to the main boom, pedal sprocket must be welded to the crossmember, ete.! All parts have been measured, cut and bent.

Yes, I received an inquiry about same.

When I took welding at local cc, was told by instructor "arc welding rearranges the 'molcular structure' of cro-mo steel." Since then I have seen two classic examples of his advise  Shocked ! Both held on to the bead, however, it separated from tube  cry.
Yes, muffler tube 'can' be arc welder, but, to what on the freame  Huh ? The rest is cro-mo aircraft tubing.

Brazing can join just about any two metals with no problems. 1st choice!

M I G welding is good (used by muffler shops). 2nd choice.

T I G  " is also good, but, most expensive, ....... unless you already have one   Cool Last choice.

Sent you an e-mail.  I have some parts, but if you could get me a complete list of what all is there, that would be nice.  Also I'll be at work until about the same time myself so timing will work fine.  Reply to my e-mail with details or call.

Finally opened and completely un-wraped all parts. Found some parts missing. Have decied to remove from market.
With help from another trike list, found out rear triangle must also be from another df  bike for any size wheel. One photo showed he had installed a front 'bumper'! Hight seat rack for all kinds of lights, banners, etc
Shall just fabricate needed parts and finish it at my own time to share with a fellow re-tiree.
Perhaps someday we can join some of you riders to show it off LOL!
