Good, glad you got a lap in...  it helps to know what hills are 'grinders" and which ones you can try to carry your speed up to the crest...  Once you're past the 15 mile point, it's mostly downhill, except for the climb just before Goatneck Hill.

Scott, the manager at Performance on Walnut Hill, donated some supplies to the RBENT TTTT efforts...  I have:
    *  Cytomax drink mix powder, orange flavor, 24 oz.
    *  Endurox Restore drink mix powder, lemonade flavor, 32 oz.
    *  GU gel, 24 pack, mixed flavors
    *  PowerBar Performance energy bar, peanut butter flavor, 12 count
    *  PowerBar Energize bars, fruit smoothie flavor, 12 count (OK, 11, I ate one...  Roll Eyes )

Since Plano Cycling has offered to do something similar, I was planning to go up there this coming week...  What other products (Or more of something on the above list) would youse participants like for me to ask for?

ell, since this weekend was a total bust, we'll have to do most of our planning here.   Peggy was *so nice* and will have a canopy for us there already.

We need to get some lists going:  things we need and thing we're bringing:

need:
camp table
peanut butter sandwich supplies
ensure for calories and protein
fruit
gallons of water
paper bowls/knives/spoons for eating and such

Bringing:
coleman stove
enough whole wheat spaghetti with turkey meat sauce for everyone
spike energy drink - strong stuff
hopefully a tent for us to crash in when we're off duty
2 camp chairs.
cooler

this is a quick off the top of my head list - what else do we need?

Individually may i suggest 2 complete changes of jerseys and shorts, sweaters, long warm pants and a jacket.  I think it'll be much cooler this year and I don't want to go into the near-shock I had last year.

I'll be posting our schedule tomorrow!

I'll have a couple of chairs,  lunch-meat, bread, a cooler,  water, the Baron for a 'backup' or backup parts for someone.     I'll probably toss in a few bike part spares, including a wheel or two.

I agree on jackets and clothing. I'll prepare for just about everything.

A first aid kit, bug spray and the such wouldn't be a bad idea.

As for the ride:
We should be warmed up and ready to roll at 47-50mins past the point of the last rider left.   I doubt we'll have many in that range, but being prepared is good.      Riding every 4 th hour worked really well for me last year.   I know there was some talk about us going to a 2 man rotation after dark,  but it won't do me much good as I won't sleep more than 2 hours at a time anyhow out there.

The one thing that I learned last year:    2 of our riders were hurting pretty bad at the end and we would have benefited by substituting a different rider.    *IF* anyone is getting weak, stomach issues, etc,  it should be mentioned so that someone stronger might consider jumping in or adjusting rotation.

I'll have a hotel room in town until Checkout time (around noon) on Saturday.  Everyone is welcome to go shower there.

Lindsay will be there to help support us Friday morning and through the day Friday, if you guys could return the favor Saturday during her 12 hour time trial, it'd be appreciated.   Most of us will be out there anyhow, so it shouldn't be a bit deal.

I've got a couple of coleman gas lanterns, for lighting purposes, and I'll be putting a tent up among the trees, with an air mattress and blankets inside.

It definitely got chilly at night last year!!!

Terrie and I have plenty of plates, plasticware, etc., so we'll bring that.

I've got a coleman stove as well, as a spare.

We should have a table set up in one of the canopies with all the nutritional stuff, water, ice, etc. all in one place, as a centralized location -- last year we were all digging through plastic bags, etc....

I'll also have the whiteboard for our RBENT logo sign....

So I get ready to go for my ride, but before that want to change the tube in my front tire.  I put on the new tube and hear a ping.  Now there's a rattle.  I figure it's just hot glue that cracked and sure enough one of the hot glue points has broken.  Still, I get paranoid and take a side off - somehow a spoke spontaneously broke.  I'm glad it happened this week and not next!

Mixed Bag of Nuts will just jump into your thread here too Smiley
Just got through updating all the reflective tape on the Corsa, Everybody all reflective?
The 3M stuff marketed by Nathan for $2 is very effective.
I have a rear triangle and 2 blinkies to go with the dual headlights, one high and one low.

Take Care,
Nelson.
