I received the 200K CUE sheet from LSR member Sharon Stevens (a known Cycling Goddess).  She was listed on the LSR website as their contact for the ride.  I posted the file on my server here:  http://terry.pickl.com/ftproot/200k-Italy-Brevet.xls  For anyone who wants it.

Sincerely
Terry

BTW terry, you do know you must be a LSR and RUSA member to ride this ride, right?

Ok sent in my membership and check and notified sharon via email of my intent on riding.
Called my bikeshop about spokes so hopefully they'll be able to get some. If not I may get to try out the bicycle towing option I got on my better world club (AAA type thing) membership.

It may be my last ride (Verizon Reasons shhh)  for a while and I really gotta get some miles on the clock anyhow.

I was looking into this.  RUSA is old-school mail application and they process and mail back membership.  So it may take several weekes for them to do this.  So all I can do is  fill out the papper work and tell LSR that the check in in the mail.

That should work, or you could also bring it to the ride and give it to Dan or the ride coordinator (Sharon I believe).

Take Care,
Nelson.

Like Nelson said, just bring the RUSA application to the ride if you haven't already mailed it.  If you have mailed it, things are pretty laid back.  Just email Dan Driscoll (driscoll@flash.net) or Sharon Stevens (sstevens@deep-south.com) before the ride to let them know your intentions.  On my first couple Brevets, I hadn't received confirmation back from RUSA either, and things were cool.

I can't stress enough to watch your level of effort and your fluids in the afternoon, especially youse newbies...  the typical brevet has 30 miles or so between stops, and they're still calling for highs approaching 105 on Saturday...  For the 200K'ers, it's a LONG, hilly 30+ miles from Dixie's Little Stop back to Italy.  Riding HHH in 105 is one thing, with rest stop options every 10 miles or so -- this is another.

Yeah...we don't need the "rando" cops disqualifying any riders because someone wasn't a LSR member.  Dan is actually going to be in Colorado this weekend. But give any/all information to Sharon Stevens. AND the randos will leave promptly at 6:30am...they don't waste time at the starts.

Paul ,makes a great point about hydration ,& let me add nutrition(you gotta fuel the body).

well, I oughta be ready for sure!  apart from my usual repair kit which includes a spare tire, and my mix + a full bottle of gel, I have a second gel bottle and a second bag of powder mix.  If I don't finish this ride, it won't be because of caloric deficit!

..even bringing my lights.

Greg,  lets work on some 'bent paceline skills.     It should make it easier for everyone.

You'll also need some protein and other foods.    I figure I'll take in a gel shot every 30-45 minutes, a 24 oz gatoraid and some sort of bar every rest stop.

We can do a little pacelining, but I'm not planning on doing anything at speed tomorrow.  This'll be my first 300k, so I want to make sure I finish with style as a setup for a 400k later this year.  I take a big swig of gel every 10-15 miles, take long pulls of my liquid mix - which has protein, and always try to have solid food of some sort - preferably subway or such - at every control.  200k's have been easy this year, so I think I'll be ok.  The extra stuff I'm bringing is emergency stuff more than anything.
