GDB Time Trial, Thurs. 7/24
Jul 24th, 2008, 9:27am

The GDB 'Third Thursday" time trial is happening on the FOURTH Thursday this month, instead, due to the earlier holidaze...

This is a ride where we depart from Mesquite Poteet HS at 6PM, ride semi-casually about 9 miles out to the Mesquite International  Cheesy Airport, then do a 7.5 mile time trial loop, with riders starting one minute apart.  Once it's done, we all head back to the start...

If you want to run this course, c'mon out -- there's no prize money, only "braggin' rights," and it's an interesting gauge of your personal fitness level.  You can also meet us at the airport, around 6:30-6:45 -- take the entrance road into the airport, and go all the way south until it dead ends - that's where we gather.  But we depart Poteet at 6PM sharp.  If meeting at Poteet, park in the northwest corner of the parking lot in front of the school, away from where the band practices.

Here's the school location, on Galloway just south of Town East Blvd:

And here's the Mesquite Airport Location, with the course outlined:

Here's the time trial course, itself -- nothing but right turns:

Last time I was out in that area Lawson Road had cracks in the pavement big enough to grab a mountain bike tire, does this mean they fixed the road?

I ride my bike to ride my bike, and sometimes it takes me where I need to go.

We're not on that part of Lawson with the time trial.

Oh, those cracks are MUCH bigger, these days!!!   Grin Cheesy

But like Brad said, we're south of that section, and it's been newly repaved in that part.
