Do any of you plan on racing? I won the 10 mile sprint race last year in 22 minutes flat. I may do the 27 mile race this year. My 23 year old daughter and our two grandchildren will come for their first organized event, so I'm still undecided. I may do the 10 mile race again, then go catch up with them, and my wife Angie, on the family portion of the ride.

EV ,Peggy & I will be there. You'll have the opportunity to ride UP Goatneck hill. During the TT's you'll get to ride DOWN Goatneck hill.

For those who are interesting in the race, it goes like this....

The 70 mile racers stage first, then the 70 mile rally riders. They depart, then about 5 minutes later the 41 mile racers line up followed by the 41 mile rally riders. They depart, then the 27 mile racers line up, etc., etc...

It is not a USCF race. There is a lead vehicle, either a motorcycle or a SAG type truck. They follow the race leaders for the entire race.

Reply #11 - Jul 22^nd, 2008, 4:06pm Depending on work I am going to try and make it. At least I'll get a partial peek at what the texas time trial course which shares sections with goatneck. I don't think I'll be doing any races with those speeds.

Corsa Ken Ken ,remind yourself at mile 50,after you've been baking in the sun & the climb starts. Goatenck hill is every bit as hard as any Muenster hill.
