Cheryl and I are all over this one. I think she said there's supposed to be a bunch of handcyclists participating, so you lowracer guys should finally have some people to talk to at eye level!

Won't be much of a conversation at the speed we'll usually pass them at

Can we get a final count on who is riding this event?  To my knowledge:

Confirmed:
Ray T.
Mark L.
Terry P.
Robert J.
Foo and Cheryl

Unknown:
D.J. - maybe
Paul - ?
Greg - ?
Nelson - ?
Who else?

I'll probably ride the 100k, starting off riding a tempo, TTTT like 20 mile as fast as possible.  Then slow down and meet and greet the special guests.  Let's all be good ambassadors for recumbent riders. Please note the following from the web site:
Events such as the Patriot Pedal, that are designed to encourage and support participation by our wounded soldiers, can be as appreciated and beneficial to their lives as the equipment the Fund provides.  This is why several local and flown-in special guests will be riding along side us with their modified equipment. Be sure and meet these amazing people. And again, ALL proceeds from the rally go directly towards helping make the lives of our severely injured soldiers just a little more like what they were used to.

Looks like my meeting at church is on, so I at least won't be at the start.  Maybe will run in to some of you guys out on the road as I'll be on my bike somewhere in the area by 10:00 or so.
Have a great ride for a great cause!

On the map page they have a link to google maps with the whole thing drawn out with stops now.
Depending on the rain situation I may head down. I forgot what day today was and left my flag at home. Maybe I'll be able to run it Saturday since I'll be going slow anyhow.
If I go I'll probably ride down and try and make a century out of it.

Considering the weather, they may have to change the name to "Patriot Paddle".

Many recumbents are perfect for riding through flooded roads. Last year I rode my Giro 26 through some really deep water and all important components were well out of the water. On my old road bike I have paddled through water that wasn't half as deep  Wink
Now if some of those lowracers show they might be swimming  Grin

I can't make it due to unexpected work commitments, which happen again and again.  On the other hand, I was successful in scheduling vacation to volunteer on Friday out at the TTTT.  DJ

I will be there.  But due to the threat of rain I was thinking about rolling my Rans Rockets (has fenders) rather then the baron.
