It's not just a GDB ride. All the area clubs do it, and start from lots of different places. It's just too many folks for me, on too many roads I don't like, without traffic control.

Bud,Thanks. I saw all the clubs listed after I posted my message. It sounds a little  hairy. I'm not one for big crowds(on small, dangerous roads)to begin with. I think I'll pass.

There is a group leaving from the old Debos Bike shop on Beltline in Grand Prairie.  They take a light traffic route and there's a group of us meeting them on their route in Irving.  If anyone's interested, I can send addresses and locations.

I haven't done this ride before, but it's been around for a while.  Basically, the various bike clubs all converge on the West End, and find somewhere to eat lunch, then ride back out.  The GDB group is dining at thingy's Last Resort.  Don't know if I'll join in this year, but I might...

Sunday mornings in downtown Dallas are pretty sparse, car-traffic-wise -- we go down there a lot on the Sunday Roll.  And I don't think there's a real problem with "crowded rides" since everybody is departing from different locations around the area.  Downtown could be busy, but you're just doing a casual cruise through that area.  It's really more of a social event -- but bring a sturdy, long-cable bike lock!
