My new ride...
Jan 20th, 2008, 4:16pm

I couldn't let Bud get a new bike and not get one myself!

7 speeds, probably 50-60 pounds, and 2" deeply knobbed tires.  I went for 20-25 minutes around my neighborhood today and probably went all of a mile.  My back, chest, shoulders, biceps, and triceps are wiped out.  I couldn't move out of the easiest gear unless I was going at a good clip and flat ground.  Woefully slow, but hopefully it'll keep me from losing much more of my aerobic system   Thanks Paul for hooking me up with your friend.

I definately can't hang with her.   Not unless you guys want to loan me some slicks and a couple chainrings Smiley.  I was embarrassed to be unable to change gears and still spin the handles.  But We'll see where I'm at next weekend~!

I can't tell you how much i admire her after trying to ride one frigging mile today.....

So what you are really saying is that you will have the bike "dialed in" for the next 200K brevet...or not?!

Do yourself a favor, change out those freakin' tires...   Grin

Did you actually buy it from Bill, or is it a loaner?

It's a rental, actually.  With only seven speeds, I doubt I'l buy it unless it's dirt cheap. but I might change my mind after a few weeks of riing, if the weather LETS me ride!

So Greg I must have missed what prompted the foot operation, was this a trauma or something else?
Get well soon! and enjoy the new ride!

Take Care,
Nelson.
