How Is Bud Doing And What Hospital Is He At???

I'm about to leave for church, and will be visiting a relative who is in Baylor All Saints Ft. Worth hospital afterwards.

Will someone please leave me a voice mail where Bud is, as I'd like to go see him. Not sure I can go today, as it depends how long we'll at Baylor All Saints in Ft. Worth.

The way the last half of the year has gone for rbenters, maybe we should have a separate Rbent Hospital Ward forum, huh.......

I was admitted to the Dallas VA Hospital on Wednesday, and had surgery Thursday afternoon. They did a wedge resection on my upper left lung, and after the pathologist confirmed it was cancer, removed my entire upper left lung lobe, including lymph nodes. The lymph nodes will be biopsied, and if they are cancer free, then the surgery was a cure.

I was moved from ICU to a regular room last night. I will probably be here another couple of days.

Greg has also gone under the surgeon's knife. I'll let him post and tell you of his horrors.

Bud you have my prayers and wishes. What a Christmas,eh, I'll be thinking of my fellow benters and keep prayers going for swift recoveries.

Yep, it was a great Christmas gift. It was a wonderful family gathering tonight, and served as a reminder not to take these things for granted. I was one happy camper.

Holy crap. I don't come around for a couple weeks and all hell breaks loose. I knew you had some kind of lung issue that was holding up your thyroid surgery, but I had no idea you were getting carved up like a Christmas turkey.

I hope the surgery took care of the cancer. LiveStrong.
