I received an email from one of my sisters, whose command of the English language has always been... .well.... "lacking"... She was describing an elderly relative who had passed away recently, who had suffered from Alzheimer's... But she said (highlight is mine):

<<...His dad passed away on monday night so i took off friday for the funeral. He had altimizers for quite a while & was in a nursing home. >>

I almost spit coffee all over my screen... Wouldn't Altimizers be a disease that pilots suffer from???
