I used a company conduit bender, and bent the fork at work (shhhhhh.......don't tell anyone). It didn't work very well either; it took some welding on the collapsed spots to make it passable.
 
Even then, it didn't have as much rake as I wanted, so I had been watching ebay for a cheap, longer fork, and found one a couple of weeks ago (a $1 bid and $15 shipping snagged it). I'd already killed a second fork with the conduit bender, so this time I stopped by Northern Tool and bought a hydraulic pipe bender, something I had been threatening to buy for a long time.  
 
It did a nice job. There are still some marks in the area of the bend (I chose that spot for my reflective tape), but nothing big enough to cause a structural problem. You are welcome to borrow it. Extra taping/padding might let you bend with no marks, but I won't guarantee that.
 

I left the bosses on my fork. I figure if I get around to adding a fairing, I can just bolt the lower mounts on it to the bosses.

You can take the bender home and do it there. Are you coming to the picnic Sunday?

I was thinking I could bring the bender to the picnic, but if you are riding to and from it, 90 lbs of bender might be a bit much to carry with you.
 
On the subject of fairings, I've been looking for a used one for the Nimbus. If you run across one for sale, let me know. I put the short Edge fairing that I had on Rose's Stratus.  It seemed a better match for the Stratus. The Nimbus sits so tall, it really needs a full length fairing.

That is the Edge fairing I already have, except mine is clear. It's a lot shorter than the Mueller and Zzip fairings that are made specifically for lwb bikes. I've been balking at the prices of the new Mueller and Zzip, but if I don't find a used one by fall, I may bite the bullet and buy new.
