Well I'm In  Shocked Steve just completed my registration. Greg how about it, are you going to be able to ride this weekend. See you Saturday Nelson.

I'll know for sure Thursday, when I get my new clipless pedals in.   My foot has gone from a 44 mega to a 45 regular size, and I don't know if I can press my foot against a hard sole.  If I can wear them comfortably, yes.  if not, I'm out.  I'm just not gonna do a TT in platforms and sandals.  I'm just not  Smiley

Greg,

I hope you can ride, but I don't want your fee enough for you to hurt/re-injure yourself.  You could always come up and cheer for your teammates!

For those that have not done a TT before there are a few basic rules:

No drafting.
Your jersey must have sleeves.
Open course, so the shoulder is recommended, but not required
Do not impede traffic that is passing you if you choose to ride in the traffic lane

At the start, there will be a holder.  His job is to hold you upright while you get clipped in and ready to go.  The official will let you know 15 seconds before you start and then 5...4...3...2...1...go.  The holder will release you, but will not push you so on go, you release the brakes and take off.

If you are late for your start time, your time starts without you.  Approach the finish line and announce "late starter", and then wait for instructions.  Being late for your start is NOT a DQ.  It just adds to your time.

We are running everyone 30 seconds apart, so you might pass someone or be passed.  give space between bikes so you don;t run afoul of the "no drafting" rule.

All basic stuff.  If you want to practice the "hold and release", we have a lot of concrete in the parking lot.  Good idea if you've never done it before, just so you know what it feels like.  John is a very good holder.

that's it Smiley

Registration/check-in is from 7-8, racing starts at 9 with the Juniors.  Each group has a 5 minute break between groups:

I won't know the exact time until after all registrations are complete.

So Peggy, Robert, and myself, anybody else racing Saturday?  Ray, Paul you guys busy? Would be great to have a few more!
I know we have some injuries preventing a few folks though.  I'm just expecting to get a run in, not set any records.

Take Care,
Nelson.

I might come up and have a look see but I don't think I'll be TT'ing. It is pretty close to my house and where I ride so maybe I'll ride the giro up if my ankle holds up.

Nelson ,I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Peggy is ready to tear up the course. I'm a few weeks from being 100% or I would be riding tomorrow. But I will come back stronger & faster.

Good luck to all riding in the TT's tomorrow.

Evblazer, Peggy & I are riding tomorrow after the TT's come ride with us.

I'll bring my normal wheels too then, maybe I can ride a little while, yard work will be calling though.
Looking forward to seeing the Peginator set a new course record!

Well I'm loading and locking up the Giro on the back of the Prius. The Prius with a huge dent thanks to Ms Buick.
It'll be too dark to ride up unfamiliar roads so I'm gonna drive up and test the road early so if anyone needs a lighted escort for warmups I should be there if my ankle holds up. I did a whopping mile tonight and gave a little sprint and no lingering affects. Maybe I didn't twist it so badly.

Edit: Work up with a swollen ankle. Doesn't hurt at all but it is stiff so I stayed in bed till a few minutes ago. Hopefully i'll be all ready and can make a run at it next go around.

HCTT is being allowed to continue with a few changes Smiley

Big change: Shoulder only.  Riding in the traffic lane is an automatic 30 second penalty...

Small changes: Extended registration, more folks on course (I hope), and an Aubrey cop being hired.

Nice thing is that you recumbent types follow the rules well....and we appreciate it!

BikeReg will go live next week, once the altered flyer is approved.  I'll pop a link in here at that time.

Thanks,

Kevin

Unrelaetd: Nelson...you coming to the crits this year?  B race avg was 25.5 last night (until I hit a pothole and flatted that is...)

You'll need a name change.  May I suggest the CSTT instead?  (Chip Seal Time Trial)   Grin

Sorry Kevin, Aubrey does know its shooting itself in the foot with the cycling community right?  I was going to design a permanent through there, but I'm dropping that idea.  On the Crits, I really was set to come out Tuesday, but the poor looking weather forecast had me deciding to ride the commuter with fenders in to work.  Call me a wuss, but I hate the fenderless racing bike in the rain.  I hope your flat didn't cause any pavement inspection.

Take Care,
Nelson.

Not sure they care...since cyclists were blocking traffic all over town and up and down Hwy 428 instead of yielding.

Like any town, the city council is going to listen to the loudest complainers...in this case the people whose way we got in.  And they got nothing in return, since they don't charge a permit fee.

We are making a donation to the Aubrey Library from the last race proceeds.

The cycling community in Aubrey is about 10 people, and none of us ride together.  1 or 2 they don't care about.  Event sized numbers are a bigger hassle...
