Well I just went out and registered for May 10th and plan on coming up on the Giro 26. I wonder if a pair of dinotte tail lights and a few superflashes would be enough to make people enter the traffic lane to pass. Although I suppose I shouldn't being trying to blind any fellow rbenters if anyone was unlucky enough to start behind me.

Blame everything but the engine!   Grin

I'll likely be pretty slow again this next round, but I'll be on the tica which will make up for it I hope.  I'm hoping to do 200 miles May 3.  Hopefully a week will let me recover enough.

Slow I think not, I wish I could be as fast as you and Nelson. Add insult to injury Steve will be racing that weekend too. My hope is to better my time. Personal best : ;With out any wardrobe malfunctions embarrassed.

I had a nice conversation with the Chief of Aubrey PD today.  I think we are going to have a smooth event.  He actually likes us coming to town.  As long as everyone (cars and bikes) behaves reasonably, there is no issue Smiley

Interesting story he told me about his first arrest 18 years ago.  It was a car vs. bike road rage deal with a gun involved.  The cyclist was packing heat and threatening the driver that had cut him off.  This was before concealed carry permits.

See ya'll on the 10th!  Don;t forget to pre-reg...makes the lines much shorter:

Next time I'll tell him to ditch the extra weight of the seat bag Wink

If you think that seat bag is extra weight you are in for a treat when you see my TT rig  Cool

I promise to disengage my bottle dynamo for the run so I don't cause everyone to fall down laughing Wink
Edit: that thing is crazy loud people think I have some old front hub motor
Edit2: Tommorow I plan on riding up there to get a few runs in and see if I can make that turn around. I got two mirrors, 3 if I were the one on my glasses, so I'll see cars coming without a problem.

Do you know what time the bents will be starting?  And by what time do I need to check in?  I'd like to get there as late as possible as I have another commitment earlier that morning.

Officially registration/checkin runs from 7-8am, but we have been holding it open until 8:30 for those that pre-reg

Recumbents start in the 5th group.  I don't know what time that is, but figure we had 90 or so riders total, 80 if you remove the teams...everyone was started by 10.

Guessing 9:30-9:45, but it really depends on attendance, snice we start each group about 5 minutes after the previous one is gone

Regarding the shoulder rule. It looks fine all the way through the course up to the last 200meters. Most of the debris is tire tread and a few branches. All teh road kill looks to be near the yellow line (and ew it smells). If someone needs to pass me going up that hill can they use the right turn only lanes? The shoulder for the last 200 meters is 3ft or less.

You can use that full right turn lane at the finish...its plenty wide enough for three abreast Smiley
