I make regular trips to visit a friend in Sherman who is a resident in a nursing home. I was thinking that it would be a good idea for a few of us to go up there and say Hello to a bunch of the residents and have lunch with them. This would be good for 2 reasons: #1 would be most of those residents never get visitors and would love to have lunch with someone besides the other residents. #2 would be to make me look more "normal", to the residents at least. If we could get a bunch of people to show up we would be heroes. Heck if we could get 4 including myself we would be heroes.
 
If we meet up and leave from the Parker Road station the group portion of the ride to Sherman would be about 90 miles, +/-, round trip. So, what do you say? Sound like a trip?

How does the Saturday before Tour d' Italy sound? My friend at the nursing home is making sure we will get fed. I checked the ride on BikeRouteToaster, and it's about 91 miles and just under 2000 feet of climbing if we leave from Parker Road Station in Plano. It's not that hard a ride, just the wrinkly bits near Sherman, and that part is just a few miles in the middle of the ride right before we stop at the nursing home for lunch. We will have to spend at least a couple of hours at the nursing home with the residents, just mingle a bit and try not to make me look like I'm too crazy for riding out to visit my friend there.
