Joel H informed us during the September 30 ride that it was the last one of the year. Guess the next one will take place in March 2018. |
Title: Re: RBENT ride this weekend? Post by rmillay on Oct 23rd, 2017, 6:31pm Doesn't mean we can't get together there for an unofficial ride. [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif] |

Title: Re: RBENT ride this weekend? Post by jayg on Oct 24th, 2017, 9:04pm I'd be up for an RBENT 100K, provided the ride leader is riding a Terra Trike Rover, not a velomobile. :D |

Title: Re: RBENT ride this weekend? Post by rmillay on Oct 26th, 2017, 6:33pm With the predicted cold morning, I guess I'll just do the East side ride, which starts at 9:30. That way I don't have to wake up early, and the sun can heat things up a little bit. [smiley=whistling.gif] |
Title: Re: RBENT ride this weekend? Post by MrWizard on Oct 27th, 2017, 9:04am I'm thinking the same thing .. there is probably 10 degree difference between 8:30 and 9:30 tomorrow morning rmillay wrote:

Title: Re: RBENT ride this weekend? Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Oct 28th, 2017, 8:31pm I took a rare Saturday off the bike/trike, due to the chill factor... went to an "Open Mosque" day in Plano, then caught Blade Runner 2049 at the movies.... |
Title: Re: RBENT ride this weekend? Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Oct 28th, 2017, 8:32pm The GDB Airport Ride with around the airport is a 100K, provided you do the Tower Loop... and kicking out to 183 adds another couple. |

So how many stars do you give Blade Runner? [smiley=shrug.gif] |
Title: Re: RBENT ride this weekend? Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Oct 31st, 2017, 10:54am Oh, 3.5 to 4 out of 5... You definitely want to have seen the original before seeing this one, or you'll miss TONS of references... and it's a good story, but there are several scenes that drag, in an attempt to create "atmosphere"... It's definitely an homage to the original, and pretty well conceived. PB Action Lad wrote:

Such a day would be prefaced by signing a contract with Old Slew Foot unless you're in another velomobile. [smiley=notworthy.gif] |

Title: Re: RBENT ride this weekend? Post by MrWizard on Nov 1st, 2017, 11:14pm about 25-30 sheppeys per hour or thereabouts is the usual street level cruising speed depending on the surface. Phantom Rider wrote:
