Title: Tonight at White Rock Lake Post by mleuck on Oct 5th, 2016, 8:05pm (This may ramble but bear with me) So I'm out tonight at the lake doing the usual trying to be fast and passing everyone I see... The last 2 weeks I've run into more fast riders than literally the entire year, last week had multiple laps with 22+ mph averages, these guys never let up and we run multiple laps mostly because I don't like getting passed and I WILL NOT back down ...So tonight I was looking at a boring ride with no fast riders when I saw one of the fast guys from last week heading up to the high trail after the bath house...now I COULD have continued on straight and continue the boring ride or I COULD head up after him knowing full well when I take him he's going to tail me all the way around..... I of course head after him and sure enough he's on my rear all the way around until Mockingbird...last lap was a 22+ because of it. Kicker was that he stops by while I was loading my bike onto the truck and thanked me for the pull then said this.... "I see you out here all the time, you are the benchmark" Best compliment I've ever had in over 15 years riding that lake |
