Title: RBM Recumbent Ride
Post by jayg on Jul 23rd, 2015, 6:20pm

Come join us this Saturday (Jul 25) on the Richardson Bike Mart recumbent ride. There will be a number of us RBENTers in attendance. The ride starts at 8:30 AM in front of the RBM Richardson, TX shop at 1451 West Campbell Road (located in shopping center South of Campbell). Ride distances are 10, 20, and 30 miles. If you have a mechanical or run out of gas, you will not be left behind. Lunch at Braum's for those that want to get something to eat, after the ride.

I should be there along with my Daughter.

Go easy on me, I've not been able to ride for about a month due to a broke foot.

Ouch!  I've seen people riding using one foot, but I wouldn't want to have to!  Hope it's knitting nicely.

Relive the fun, the chills, the thrills, the excitement, the standing around at the rest stops! You will marvel at the 1080p hi-def video,  gasp  at the chroma graphics and laugh when you realize that somewhere, some place .. google is holding all 158G of this for the revenue of a few seconds of advertising.   At least when it done "processing" which should be some time monday afternoon.

Thanks for the video.
I never get to see myself riding from a second person perspective, but +3 hours of silence, what gives?    [smiley=shrug.gif]

I guess I could have dubbed in some Skillerx or Deadmou5  .. but in truth,  I didn't feel it was appropriate to include the conversations people were having on the ride.

Nice video. The split screen with dashboard is pretty cool. Just recently got 45 Mbps U-Verse. No way I could have viewed 720p video with my old 1Mbps DSL.

Do we need to remind RBM that the Recumbent Ride is this weekend, so they'll supply us with leaders and sweepers for those not going fast?  Seems they keep forgetting that we're coming and just let us go on our own.  How importiant IS this ride to them?

It has been entered on their calendar, so someone at RBM is aware of this month's ride.

Might be cancelled due to HHH?

About what time do you guys usually hit Braums?  I may stop in for a milkshake since I can't ride.

We will ride on Saturday, regardless of RBM employee participation, like we did last month.

I'm thinking somewhere between 11:30 and 12:00 for lunch at Braum's.

I'll be there,  no way i can do the HHH -- too many family obligations.    I'll probably ride out from the house early, do a loop and meet you guys at RBM..

I'm trying to get up a metric for Sunday, so I'll opt out of the bonus miles.

This month's RBM recumbent ride is scheduled for this Saturday (Sept. 26). Ride starts in front of the Campbell Road store at 8:30 AM. Two of our long route regulars will be at the Texas Time Trials.

I will be there for the longer distance, God willing and the creek don't rise...again.   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I won't be there,  By the time you guys start ...  I'll be on the back side of the 24 hour Texas Time trial segment.

(which I'm going to suck at as I am just now flying back into town [ hi from 37,000 feet ] and haven't had much sleep in 3 days  )

Its that time of the month again ..   Time for the Rbent - RBM monthly ride out of RBM ..   The weather might be a bit interesting though  [smiley=vrolijk_1.gif]    I plan to be there for the 8:30 start .. I talked to Joel at RBM and they are expecting us ..  However ---  if its raining we might just be hanging out for a while .. currently the weather forecast has the rain ending about 9am so we might consider a late departure

Doug, you may be the only long-route regular that shows up. Bob M is in China, and Key and I will not be there.

Is your digital scale reading 29.9 pounds?

Title: Re: RBM Recumbent Ride

There was only two of us at the RBM ride ..   Myself and my daughter (who finally got up on time)  ..   so yeah it was pretty quiet ..  not many wedgies either, only saw 4 leave out.

Yes thats 29.9 pounds, fully loaded, including the 3L camelback, tools, spares, etc . .basically ready to ride ..   The bags themselves pick up 1.3 pounds ..  Surprising how easy it is to add weight and how hard to remove weight.

Its that time of the month again .. I've not been by RBM in a while to see if Joels planning to ride this, but without other motivations I'll ride out from the house to be there for the 8:30 start.   Looks like the weather should be cool but excellent.

Doug, I believe Joel told me on the next-to-last ride of the year in 2015 that the 2016 rides would start at the end of March.

Thats true .. I talked to him today .. however we can ride ourselves .. or just go ride the east side ride .. I'm game either way ..  I'll be back in the peoples republic of the united states on thursday --  I've not ridden in a week due to the freak snow storm here in southern china http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-35398855 so I'm going a little bonkers from bike withdrawals.

I'll be riding at WRL in the afternoon when it's warm. Maybe Bob M and others will be doing the East Side ride.

Looks like a high of 72(!) saturday, sounds plenty warm.    Depending on the sunday plans, I might head down to WRL with the kid saturday after the east side ride.  If so I'll look for you.

14 mph southerly winds w/gusts to 21 mph forecast for Saturday. Ugh. Will probably be riding my low racer, if the wind speed forecast holds.
