Title: St. Jo 125K
Post by Kwijybow on Aug 29th, 2009, 8:09pm

Ray and I rode his new permanent populaire from Bolivar up to St. Jo and back.  We both had late nights at High school football games with our kids playing in the band, so we started at a quite late 9am.  The weather was so unseasonably cool, and the North wind was nice on the return that it was a pleasant day despite the late start.   The uphill from Bolivar to Forestburg always seems to kick my butt for the first 25 miles, but boy after we got into St. Jo and came back downhill it got fun.  Took us 3:14 to go up and 2:16 to come back.  It was great getting to see Ray, and its a challenging 78 miles!

Ray will have the climb stats but we had a 4:41 ride time for 16.8 mph avg.  I was on the Corsa and Ray road the Xstream, really like those Xstreams!

Take Care,
Nelson.

Nelson - it was a great day.  For anyone wanting a challenging 125k, this is the one.  And it's super easy.  The only turn in the whole 125k is the little jog once you get in Forestburg.

I don't know how to paste the Garmin image, however, here are out lap splits

1. Bolivar - Forestburg - 25.78miles - 1:35 time - 16.2 avg.
2. Forestburg - St. Jo - 13.18 miles - 54:03 time - 14.6 avg (north wind really kicked in)
3. St Jo - Forestburg - 13.18 miles 45:18 - 17.3 avg.
4. Forestburg - Bolivar - 25.78 - 1:18:  19.3 avg.

My Garmin showed
distance 78 miles
avg speed 17.0
climbing - 3,002

The highest elevation is between Forstburg and St. Jo.  That surprise me!
Forestburg is 1176' feet at mile 25.
The highest elevation is 1204 at mile 35.8 and 37.4
