Title: another brake pad topic
Post by aikigreg on May 15th, 2008, 10:44pm

Ok, so I want to replace the brake pads that came with the tica.  How do I know what size to replace them with?  Far as I can tell, the bram's brake is the same as a dura-ace.  I want a very strong pad - possible the kool-stop salmon although it's supposed to be for wet weather.  how can I find my size?

Is this brake pad the same size as a road bike brake pad?

seems to be.  The pads listed on the M5 website for the brakes are corima and dura-ace.  They seem like the exact same brakes that came on my upright racer.

...I've never kept a bike long enough to need to worry about changing brake pads before  ;D

You can look at the brake pads on my bikes. They're Kool Stop salmon Dura Ace style pads. I can look up where I ordered them.

If they fit I think the Kool Stop Salmon MTB pads are the best out there.

Take Care,

Actually for TX the recommended pad is the Kool Stop Black compound, much less abrasive and better dry weather stopping, I have used both and the Black are much nicer on the rims and do stop better in the dry than the Salmon
