Title: It's not always about speed... Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Oct 29th, 2007, 10:51am Good alternative to time trail racing... for the next get-together, perhaps? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrD8h5IfV9I |

Title: Re: It's not always about speed... Post by Richard on Oct 30th, 2007, 8:35am Talk about slow. On one of my whiterock rides a young DFr pulled up beside me at the red light and stopped, without putting his feet down. He sat there through the whole light balancing himself. When the light turned green he said " have a good day" and took off. He would win this race. ;) |
Title: Re: It's not always about speed... Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Oct 30th, 2007, 11:35am I compare DF vs 'bent balancing to trying to balance a broom on your palm vs. trying to balance a whisk broom... granted, that's a bit of overkill... :D |

That's called a track stand. It's fun, but hard to do. |

Title: Re: It's not always about speed... Post by Opus the Poet on Oct 31st, 2007, 6:31pm The only 'bent I could do a track stand on was the swinging seat FWD low racer, which had so many other "odd traits" that I would only have been able to ride it after a very long training period. Its high speed handling was tricky to say the least. BTW coroplast makes excellent "sliding pads" for learning to ride bikes with "odd traits". Opus |
