Title: Sosebee Cycling Park
Post by JimFPU on Sep 5th, 2013, 8:38am

I know none of this is in your area any more, but I feel I 'know' y'all and there aren't many bent riders around here that I know...yet.  For some reason there is no club for bents here.  May have to start one!

Anyway, looking to ride some country roads with a few guys tomorrow (at least 1 bent rider) starting at a private residence turned into a bike park: Sosebee Cycling Park.  It's in White, GA and evidently has some good riding around it.  There sems to be a few maps on MMR and Strava already.  Check them out: http://www.daily-tribune.com/view/full_story/19689712/article-White-residents-provide-bike-rest-stop?instance=main_article

Jim if you haven't already hooked up with him, check out Howard Veit's thread on BROL.  Same park you are talking about.

Oh.  I see you are the reason that thread was bumped today.  [smiley=shrug.gif]

Yes, Howard is the other bent rider that I got together with last week for the Silver Comet Trail ride.  He's a really nice guy, and would probably make a great Clown if he lived in the DFW area!  He rides an ICE Vortex+.

Jim, there is a cadre of "Team Vite" bentriders that meet every Saturday at 8:30am in Cochran - about 9 'benters plus DFs.  Look for Edwina Terman.  Another who lives in ATL is Tom Atcheson.

Tell Howard hello from FlyingLaZBoy...

We've discussed you and evidently he has had some dealings with Greg Gross.  I had to remember his screen name to jog the memories!  LOL!  I'll have to find out where Cochran is from here and possibly check it out.

After going to this park today, it's really nice to see something like this happen from just someone wanting to make a difference.  Funded by himself and donations only.

Neat looking place, from the pictures.

You'd really like it Key.  You could really generate some speed on your 700.   [smiley=twitchy.gif]

That does it.  Sosebee Cycling Park is on the list of places in the U.S. I have to ride.  A bucket list, if you will.  There are thrilling descents, and beautiful, peaceful, dappled country roads and bike paths.

No specific bike paths Key, but plenty of open country roads...and in Georgia they have not discovered boulder seal...the roads around here for the most part are smooth as glass and actually a pleasure to ride on!  The Speed really likes them!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
