Title: Fun ride 8/31
Post by kenbent6 on Aug 18th, 2013, 2:42pm

Computer up and running so here's the info.  Yearly Lancaster air port ride set for 8/31/13. Ride will leave from Segoville Texas. Take Hi-way 175 east to Stark rd. Robinwood Baptist Church is located on northwest corner, Plan on leaving at 8:am potty is other side of 175 and Stark. 16 miles to airport. Return trip maybe longer if we have to go for ice cream afterwards. Bring $15 to cover cost of entrance fee, food and ice cream. Will spend at lest one hour there. Don't forget this is a fun ride, 12 mph avg or less. How ever if Paul and or Dave is there they can lead a FAST group. Activities at air port will be Fly-in of WW!! air craft and car show along with food.  There will be no maps but maybe Sweeper will be there.. [smiley=deadhorsebeat.gif]

How about starting at 8:30 AM, so our Grandbury and Fort Worth riders can get an extra 30 minutes of sleep and all of us will stand a better chance of getting some homemade ice cream? You could install your surrey top, so you wouldn't get too hot on the return trip.  :)

They made it OK last year, There is no guarantee the ice cream tractor will be there this year. If many complain we can change next year..  [smiley=deadhorsebeat.gif]

Don't be a hard-headed old man. I could bring a spray bottle to spray you down with, if your radiator overheated on the way back.   :D

Uh oh. Let's see, one rest stop per mile for 15 miles (14 stops) at 15 minutes per stop would consume 3.5 hours. Kenny would be fried by then.  :D

OK . So who won the start time discussion? Do I need to leave here at 06:30 AM  [smiley=sleeping.gif] or at 07:00 AM   [smiley=yawn.gif] to get there on time for the start ?   [smiley=dankk2.gif]

Terrie and I will be there on the Margarita Machine -- sounds like fun!   I would ride from Poteet, but Lawson has too many hills for the tandem...  See you at the church!

Paul
