Title: July's RBM Trike Ride
Post by jayg on Jul 26th, 2013, 11:12am

Good day for a trike ride, tomorrow. Temps in the 70's and 80's and 8 to 9 mph NE winds in the morning. Remember, the start time has changed to 8:15 AM.

Hmmm.  Joel mentioned the ride when I was there yesterday, but didn't mention the 8:15 start time.  I just noticed.  Was about to head down there, but can't make it in 15 minutes.

Might be a nice day to head over to Ft. Worth.

Sorry you didn't make it. Not many riders today. Only 5 of us did the longer route. Maybe others, like you, weren't aware of the earlier start time.

I got up early this morning for the ride and thought it was sept. After last month's bake fest I was really for the earlier start. It was an easy ride. We met up with Dave and Paul on their Xstreams. After the ride we went to Bruams then I went home for 28. I went back out to the pond for another twenty. Guess that would be 58.

We headed over to Ft Worth.  Note to self; never ever take 121 there again.  2 hour delay thanks to the Governor's wonderful slow construction procedures.

Despite the delay the ride from downtown to Benbrook Lake was stellar.  The ride back was fabulous until the last 1/4 mile.  Bonnie's derailleur felt that first gear wasn't a high enough ratio and went searching for the next - and found it - gear zero between the spokes & cassette.  Stuck like chuck.  Good thing the car was just in site when it happened.

So after we got back & the chain was carefully extracted and threaded on a normal route she wanted to swap booms and try out my NuVinci.

She had me order a Nuvinci this morning.  Early, this AM, before the Hungarian GP came on.  It won't go on here Expedition, its going on the new trike.
