Title: Forgive me I have sinned...
Post by JimFPU on Apr 15th, 2013, 4:59pm

...it has been 215 days since my last ride.  [smiley=jawdrop.gif]

Finally got the SXP put back together and got everything adjusted.  Moving just sucks after you get into a routine that really works for you.  Living in a hotel for 72 days and then doing major remodeling as soon as we moved into our new-to-us house...not much room left to ride.  North Georgia has lots of hills, nothing like North Texas...well maybe similar to north of McKinney (for those that are familiar with the triple-by-pass) it's kinda like that!  It'll take some time to get back into my HHH shape, and hopefully I can start riding some more, now that the weather has improved.  Of course the pollen right now is almost like dust in your teeth...yuck.

So all said I got 8.08 miles in according to Map My Ride.  Did 4.69, and stopped to get my ID which I left at the house, then did the other 3.69.  Felt great and looking forward to getting back up to speed as it were.  A side note: hills: YES, but the roads are all smooth as glass around here!  NO chip-seal that I've seen.  THAT makes for some nice riding.  I think my top speed was somewhere around 34-ish, of course down a VERY steep but short hill on my street.  It is a loop of .9 miles.

The new RBENT shirt rides really nice too!  Thanks for taking care of the details Paul!

Hope your enjoying Atlanta.  I've got plenty of great memories of Brasilton.....Road Atlanta was my home track once upon a time.

Hills, check.  Kudzu, check.  Mosquitoes, check.  About July you'll learn a whole new chapter about humidity.

Get an 11-34 cassette, and replace the 30T with  a 28T  or 26T granny gear...

Good to hear from you Jim!  Glad you finally have time to stay riding again.

Oh, and an Xstream climbs MUCH better than a StratusXP...   [smiley=cheesy.gif]

If I could figure out how to buy it Paul, you know I would.  If I could figure out how to sell the SXP and get the Xstream...I throughly enjoyed riding Jay's.  This move has been more expensive than any of my previous ones-you need a long term payment plan... [smiley=twitchy.gif]  My in-laws are still inMcKinney, so I'm sure we'll be making a trip there soon, if not this year definately next, so I could pick it up...ARGH!  I still have to figure out HOW to pay for it.  I's such a great deal...

Funny thing is that I never went to the granny...we'll see as I venture further out.
