Some of the Clowns might remember Jerry Canepa. He rode a new red and white Orbea road bike and joked around with us at Sunset Bay. We would also run across him at various pay rides. He was found murdered at his home in North Oak Cliff. This is an awful story, very much like the woman that was murdered over in East Dallas earlier in the month. There isn't any kind of justice available in the system to truly punish people who do things like this.

For those who might be interested there will be a celebration of life ceremony for Gerry at White Rock Lake's Dreyfus Hill (Just South of the Bath House/Culture Center) at 1:00 PM on April 28. This was left under the windshield wipers of our vehicles parked at Sunset Bay this past Tuesday:

A nice, well-attended memorial service was held at WRL's Dreyfus Club hill this afternoon. Friends, ex co-workers, family, and several of Gerry's lake friends attended. A video crew from the CBS program "48 Hours" was also there. His case will be featured in one of the episodes.

A terrible event made even more tragic by the circumstances. At least they have the suspect in custody so he cannot victimize anyone else. Hopefully it won't turn out that he has done this to anyone else.
