RBM Recumbent Ride

Saturday, December15

Location: RBM Richardson

The Richardson Bike Mart is organizing another group ride of all 3 wheel recumbent riders on Saturday, November 3rd and December 15th at 9:30am. There will be 2 leaders furnished by RBM for the ride.

Vicky and I are thinking of going, but we are concerned about not keeping up. How fast is the slow group?

We haven't actually had two separate groups. There will be some slower folks and some very speedy ones. Depending upon how far you want to ride (the choice has been 13 or 20 miles in the previous rides) there will be a slower group that evolves during the ride. One of the RBM guys generally stays at the back of the group. Last time, there were some folks that wanted to turn back at 13 miles and a few others that were slow, but wanted to do the longer ride. That left a small group without an "official" ride leader but there were some of us that joined that slower group and we finished the ride a little later than the main body. Come on along and don't let fear of being slow keep you from riding. There are always some of us that enjoy the ride without a need for speed. Also, the RBM guys should have at least one RideKick trailer that they will hook up for anyone who gets tired and would like a little extra boost.

There are three or four of us who are thinking of going on for the 29-miler from the turn-around. We obviously had too much left at the end of last month's ride. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Anybody know whether or not there will be a January ride? Can't find anything about it on the RBM site.

E-mailed Joel. He informed me that there will be no trike rides in January and February, due to the cold weather. The rides may resume in March. He will post info on the RBM website when he schedules the next ride.

Us hardcore types could pick a Saturday to ride our trikes with the 29 mile group or the donut ride. [smiley=runover.gif]

That's an idea, but I want to install a short-arm crankset on my trike, before I ride it again.

NBC5, weather app reports a 60% chance of rain on Saturday. Oh well, that's my limit. I'll stay near the house this weekend. Boring, but drier. [smiley=sleeping.gif]
